About Me
The Jill Lyons Story

Some careers unfold in a straight line. Mine didn’t. Mine was built in chapters—each one shaped by reinvention, resilience, and a willingness to step forward when it would’ve been easier to stay still.

Now in my third decade of lending, I still remember the moment I decided to leave California and start fresh in Northern Nevada. I had a thriving business, decades of loyal clients, and every reason to stay put. But comfort never creates growth. So I packed up, trusted myself, and rebuilt from the inside out. Looking back, it was one of the most defining decisions of my life.

That theme—growth through boldness—shows up everywhere, even in the photos featured in this very article. One of my favorites is the shot of me and my son, Sam Lyons, back-to-back holding swords. It’s fun, a little fierce, and symbolic. Sam represents the next generation, bringing creativity, perspective, and heart into everything I do. The swords? They remind me that strength can be elegant, purposeful, and even playful.

"Strength isn’t loud. It’s the quiet choice to rise, rebuild, and move forward—again and again."

Sam has always been a grounding force in my life. As he steps into his own journey, I’m reminded that success isn’t measured by how perfectly life unfolds, but by how intentionally you live it. Including him in this feature isn’t just a proud-mom moment—it’s part of the story. He’s witnessed the sacrifices, the evolution, and the wins. He’s seen me grow not just as a lender, but as a woman determined to create something lasting.

Just as my life changed, so did my approach to health. Fitness used to mean pushing myself to extremes—CrossFit, half-marathons, constant pressure. Today, I live differently. I’ve lost over 40 pounds in the last two and a half years, not through intensity, but through balance. Peloton rides, weight training, consistency… and a mindset that says my best years are still ahead. I am the healthiest I’ve been in twenty years, inside and out.

One of the outdoor photos—the one of Sam and me at the lake with the sun breaking through over the mountains—captures that chapter perfectly. Peace, strength, and a sense of being exactly where I’m meant to be.

“Reinvention isn’t starting over. It’s honoring who you’ve become and choosing your next chapter with clarity.”

Professionally, one of my biggest steps forward came after the 2008 mortgage meltdown. When the market shook, I decided to become licensed in all 50 states—a move that made me recession-proof and expanded my reach far beyond any one local economy. It turned risk into stability, and stability into opportunity.

But no chapter of my career would exist without the people who walk this path with me every day.

The Lyons Team is the heartbeat of everything we produce.

Joe, my loan partner for nine years, is the calm in the chaos. He handles complex files with precision, foresight, and an unwavering sense of professionalism. Clients may never see the fires he puts out—but they feel the peace he creates.

Debbie, who I hired for her first mortgage job more than 25 years ago, is the foundation of our operations. Her knowledge is unmatched. Her intuition is priceless. She’s steady, loyal, and deeply rooted in the heart of our business.

Brett, with the team for over seven years, is the quiet force who ensures things get done—no matter the challenge. He brings energy, adaptability, and a problem solver’s spirit that clients instantly trust.

Together, we’re not just a team. We’re a family in motion.

“Success is never one person’s story—it’s the people beside you, the choices you make, and the heart you bring to the work.”

Another photo—the clean studio shot of Sam and me—captures that spirit. It’s a reminder that legacy isn’t about titles or transactions. It’s about the people who stand with you, the community you build, and the courage it takes to keep showing up.

My story is not about perfection. It’s about rising. Reinventing. Growing. It’s about becoming the healthiest, strongest version of myself—personally and professionally. And with Sam, Joe, Debbie, Brett, and the entire Lyons Team beside me, I’m more inspired than ever to serve Northern Nevada and beyond with gratitude, integrity, and purpose.

Because this isn’t just a career.

It’s a journey.

A legacy.

A life built brick by brick—one courageous chapter at a time.

My Philosophy
My approach to business starts with a commitment to provide you with superior service. It's important to know you are working with a person of absolute integrity, trust and ethics. With today's financing more complicated than ever, it helps to have an expert working on your behalf. By making things simple and easy for you, I take the guess work out of sizing up today's ever changing marketplace. Experience and expertise are the cornerstones of making sure you have a smooth transaction. Communication is also key in managing expectations, keeping you informed and up to date on your transaction so you don't have to worry about when your loan is closing. I focus on the details so you don't have to.
