We recently moved from New York to Illinois and were working with our Realtor to find a new home in the Chicago area. When we found a house that matched our requirements, we negotiated an accepted offer and decided to work with Matt and CMG Financial, a lender our Realtor had recommended and worked with many times before. Since we were new to the area and had no experience with local lenders, we were putting a lot of trust in that recommendation. We’re very glad we did. Matt walked us through every step of the process and explained how everything worked in Illinois. He brought in his team at CMG to handle the various pieces of the financing process, and they made sure we were ready whenever we found a house we wanted to pursue. We had a formal pre-approval letter available for our offers, and Matt made himself available to speak directly with sellers’ agents whenever they wanted additional assurance about our ability to obtain financing. Unfortunately, our first house fell through after the inspection uncovered major issues and we could not reach an agreement with the seller on how to resolve them. Our home search continued for several more months and several more offers. Through all of it, Matt and his team were there whenever we needed them, making sure the financing side of our offers was never a concern for a seller. Ten offers later, we finally went under contract on the perfect house for us, and we went through the process once again with Matt. This transaction required a little more patience because the sellers requested a delayed closing while they prepared their new home. Matt stayed on top of everything throughout the extended timeline, including interest rates, and advised us when he believed the time was right to lock. In hindsight, his timing was excellent. We were able to lock our rate before rates began moving higher again. Closing went smoothly, financing was never an issue, and Matt had even planned to attend the closing so he could meet us in person and congratulate us. Unfortunately, illness prevented him from being there, so instead he made plans to visit us at our new home afterward. Matt and his team were valued partners throughout our entire home-buying journey. We never had to worry about the financing side of the transaction because we always felt that it was being handled and that someone was looking out for us. We are now in our forever home, so hopefully we won’t need another mortgage anytime soon. But if we ever do, Matt will be the person we call. We would recommend him and CMG Financial without hesitation.
